To many of Civic Support’s staunch supporters, our Drink for a Cause Brewery Tour is nothing new. That’s because they keep coming back every year that we plan it because it’s so much fun. If you love craft beer, fun people and good causes you won’t want to miss out either!
Our first Drink for a Cause fundraiser was back in 2011. Participants boarded a bus in Boston and rode up to Maine where we visited Allagash, Shipyard, Gritty McDuff’s and Sea Dog. The following year we focused on the Central to Western regions of Massachusetts and visited Wachusett, the Gardner Ale House, Element and the Amherst Brewing Company.
This year’s tour will take place on March 15th and will once more focus on the beer-lovers heaven that is Western Massachusetts. The bus will pick ticket buyers up at 12 PM at the Holyoke Mall and proceed to visit Westfield River Brewing, Berkshire Brewing Company, and end at the North Hampton Brewery. At this last stop participants will have the chance to grab dinner in the trendy downtown North Hampton area, or hit up some of the many bars. The bus will bring everyone back to the Mall at 7:00 PM, concluding a fabulous day of locally brewed beer.
So, besides the fun, the beer and the wonderful memories you will inevitably make, why should you consider attending this year’s Drink for a Cause? Here are three excellent reasons:
- Support Local: The microbreweries we select each year are local businesses that work hard to make high quality beer. By visiting them and purchasing beverages you are showing support for their craft and for the local community.
- Support Civic Support: Any proceeds from this event will go towards Civic Support’s ongoing projects which include; developing free marketing workshops for nonprofits, attaining 501(c)(3) status, offering web development/marketing grants to nonprofits. Your small amount of money will go a long way!
- Network: Meet people with a wide variety of backgrounds, all of whom share an interest in strengthening our communities through their diverse skills.
